A chronological collection of "selfies" taken by Heather beginning in 2013 using her iPhone while in medical spaces and while engaging in other day to day tasks relating to the management of her chronic illnesses. Heather takes these photos to document the overwhelming experience of being chronically ill, to reclaim her individuality in the typically dehumanizing medical spaces, and to combat misconceptions about living with complex chronic illnesses and disability. To learn more about her thought process, read the piece she wrote reflecting on 3 years of taking and sharing these images here. To see more of her photos, visit her Instagram.
